Robert Stevenson. Long Preston The Dales.

Our traditional box sash windows were in poor condition, some had extensive wood rot in the sills. Ash Carpentry made a great job of repairing, re-glazing and painting the windows whilst retaining their originality. An accurate written quote was provided in advance and attention to detail maintained throughout. We now have easy-to-open, draft free windows and we are very pleased with the finished product.

Excellent Sash restoration. Alan and the team restored 15 large sash windows in our house which was built in 1868. The restoration was painstaking and took many hours of detailed craftsmanship. The result was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

We were really impressed on every level with our dealings with Ash Carpentry. Alan was in our busy family home for 5 days, he was punctual, polite and very professional. What could have been quite a disruptive job was in fact a slick operation, he cleared up at the end of every day and talked us through all the different stages of the job. The work itself was excellent and we would not hesitate to recommend him!

We had some very badly rotted Window Frames. Alan from Ash Carpentry was able to repair them very expertly, avoiding the need for a full replacement, and preserving the character of the property. Alan provided a complete service, including painting, which was greatly appreciated. The frames have now been through periods of extensive weathering through the recent rains and storms, and have performed flawlessly. Very very pleased.

We have just had five Georgian style sash windows restored by Alan. He did an excellent job leaving us with restored sashes that open properly and are now draft free. He worked very tidily and efficiently completed what could have been a time consuming job. I would not hesitate to recommend him if you need sash windows renovating. I plan to ask him back next year to do the four windows on the back of our house.

Ash Carpentry carried out the repair of our sash windows to an extremely high standard for a very reasonable price. The work was labour intensive with a high degree of craftsmanship, but the materials were also of high quality. Alan was a pleasure to have around the house for the whole month he was with us, and my wife and I found him completely trustworthy.

Bespoke Oak cabinet with turned walnut handles. We had a hand-painted cabinet which was rather tired and very ugly, but which my husband loved because of its architect-type drawers. We showed Alan a picture of an Arts and Crafts cabinet and asked him to build us a new cabinet to a similar design incorporating the drawers from our old cabinet. Alan built us a beautiful oak cabinet with turned walnut handles incorporating the drawers from our old cabinet, true to the principles of the Arts and Crafts craftsman, but with some of Alan's own original design features. Many Thanks.

J Needham. Brighouse.

Alan is everything you would want and hope for in a craftsmen/joiner and we are delighted with the work he has undertaken at our home. He has an eye for detail and takes time to understand the client's needs and what the building/joinery requires. He is reliable and approachable and works to a very high standard in terms of the joinery itself and the management (including tidiness) of the site, minimising disruption.

John Naylor. Bingley.

Finding a true craftsmen these days is incredibly hard, usually through word of mouth. However after Alan's flyer landed on my doormat just at the time when I really needed a good joiner I thought it had to be worth a punt. I wasn't disappointed. Alan's workmanship is first class, and he's genuinely passionate about his trade and the materials he uses. I can't help but recommend him to everybody I know!!
